    “Haa… A little harder.”

    “You’re so fucking pretty.”

Zion pressed his lips against Jubin’s cheek, the faint touch sending a shiver down Jubin’s spine.

    “Not enough, is it?”

Zion forced his fingers wider, and Jubin’s already drenched entrance yielded easily.

    Squish, squelch.

The inner walls groaned with every movement of his fingers.

    “Nngh, yes… it’s good…”

“Is it?” Zion asked tenderly, glancing at the chaotic mess they’d made of the living room floor. “You’ve been playing by yourself so much, you’re going to be exhausted, Sunbae.”

Jubin didn’t deny it, only nodding. I should have called him sooner since it was going to end up like this anyway. He let out a silent sigh of regret.

“…Just put out the fire first.”

The moment the words left his lips, the fingers thrusting inside him began to sweep his inner walls with even greater speed.

The sheer force and piston-like rhythm made Jubin spread his legs even wider, his posture more explicit.

    “Deeper… please…”

Do Zion found Jubin’s sweet spot instantly.

    “Hah!”

The long-awaited pleasure surged through his entire body. Zion’s pheromones saturated every inch of him, threatening to send his consciousness spiraling into the void.

    “Haa… haa… Zion…”

In response to his desperate plea, a kiss filled with arousal poured over him. Do Zion’s blessings are truly endless.

Between the relentless stimulation above and below, Jubin’s built-up desire reached its breaking point. His burning inner walls throbbed violently against the friction.

He pulled his lips away and cried out urgently, “I’m—I’m gonna—!”

Just as he felt he couldn’t hold back any longer—

    “Go ahead. I’ll watch.”

The moment Jubin let go of his tightly held shame, a clear fluid squeezed out of him.

He gasped for breath, his body twitching with the lingering aftershocks of pleasure. After the torrent finally subsided, a wave of exhaustion crashed over him, blurring his vision.

    “Is that enough now?”

Zion pressed wet kisses against Jubin’s cheek and neck. The soft, moist sounds were arousing and sweet to hear.

    “…I’m sorry. For calling you…”

Jubin could feel Zion’s swollen cock pressing against his open thighs. Zion had come without hesitation the moment Jubin asked him to. Now it was Jubin’s turn to take him in, but he had no strength left at all.

    “I missed you. So much.”

    His consciousness finally flickered out.

When I opened my eyes, my pseudo-heat had mercifully subsided.

Fragments of moments—too surreal to tell if they were dreams or reality—flashed through my mind. Then, I saw my pristine body and the spotless state of my apartment, and despair washed over me.

    “God, I actually called him…”

Jubin beat his head with both hands, cursing himself for being so reckless.

How could I not hold out? It wasn’t even a real heat.

Shame flooded him, his face burning hot. Yet, a dry swallow escaped him as he realized that without the other man, he would have been trapped in a silent, suffocating isolation he couldn’t have escaped on his own.

It was already over, but just recalling it left a lingering ache as if the ordeal hadn’t ended.

How much worse would a real heat be? The thought terrified him, leaving him breathless.

In that moment, he wished he could just turn off his phone and have someone lock the door from the outside.

My stomach growled, completely oblivious to my turmoil.

    “How shameless…”

I checked my phone. A message from Zion.

[ Are you awake? I left a lunchbox in the fridge. Eat up. ]

I should reply, but I couldn’t bring myself to hit send. What excuse could I even make if he asked why I’d been acting this way? I sank deeper into my thoughts.

Just send the reply first, then think.

[ Sorry for calling you out of the blue. I’ll see you on set. ]

    His reply came instantly.

    [ I miss you. ]

It was a message I couldn’t just laugh off. The worry that I might be overanalyzing things was faint. He had never left me guessing. If anything, he’d always shown his feelings openly.

“What kind of ‘partner’ is this?”

This is a relationship, Jubin thought, a bitter sigh escaping his lips.

The first full script reading was scheduled for the large conference room at Ilsan Studio.

Today was also Joo-won’s first day on the job as Jubin’s manager. As agreed, they met early in the morning in the parking lot of SUB Entertainment’s new headquarters.

    “Hyung! Get in!”

The car he drove was a new-model van, popular among celebrities these days. As Jubin climbed in, he offered a casual greeting.

    “Good morning.”

    “How are you feeling today?”

    That’s my line, Jubin thought.

“I’m fine. Aren’t you nervous? It’s your first day.”

“I did wake up early, though.”

“You’ll probably be bored during the wait times. Feel free to go to a nearby cafe and relax.”

“Oh, please. It’s the first full reading. I need to be close by to assist you.”

Joo-won’s driving was top-tier, just as CEO Moon Woo-jin had promised.

He’d even turned off the radio, sensing it might disturb Jubin as he read through the script, and had a warm tea ready. This kind of thoughtfulness was a pleasant perk of being taken care of.

After a stop at the salon early in the morning to get his hair, makeup, and outfit sorted, Jubin stepped out.

“Whoa, hyung. You really look like a celebrity now…”

Joo-won, who had been waiting, breathed in admiration.

“Do I finally look the part?”

“You always look like a celebrity, but with all this, your aura is insane.”

Jubin, who was particularly weak to compliments, smiled shyly, unable to meet Joo-won’s gaze.

The salon’s director and chief stylist were renowned for their skill. This was the kind of terrifying power SUB Entertainment wielded exclusively.

After being seen off by the chief stylist, Jubin got back into the car.

Normally, he would have been crammed among the crowds on a bus, staring blankly out the window and wondering when he’d finally get off. But being driven in a private car was a welcome change.

    “We’ve arrived.”

The staff had already announced that while the initial readings would be conducted by the actors alone, two cameras would be present from the full-cast reading onwards to film a making-of video. That was why Jubin had already done his makeup.

Is this a result of the confidence that the project is guaranteed to be a hit thanks to Do Zion’s star power? The director’s popularity, combined with the buzz surrounding the actors, was a tangible force.

As he walked down the hallway to the large conference room, chatting with Joo-won, he ran straight into Zion.

    “Sunbae.”

How many days has it been since that incident…

Jubin’s face flushed hot the moment he saw him, but he forced himself to take a deep breath and feign composure.

Get a grip, Jubin. This is your workplace. Your workplace.

He’s just here as a partner, Jubin told himself, trying to keep his mind at ease. I can just ignore this.

In contrast, Zion’s approach was unwavering, his gaze and stride laced with worry and urgency.

Strangely, the heavy, sweet scent of daphne that always clung to him in the humid air was missing. At this distance, Jubin’s senses should have already been dulled, his mind drifting into a cozy haze. The chip’s effect was truly remarkable.

Good thing my body’s adapted, he thought. Since I’ve already gone through a pseudo-heat, I don’t have to worry about side effects.

As Zion drew close, a faint, lingering sweetness brushed past—a mere ghost of his scent. His nose had already grown so accustomed to it that he barely registered it.

Jubin gave a casual wave, stepping forward to meet him as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

    “You’re early.”

Zion looked like he had a million questions, but after glancing at Joo-won, he settled for a casual compliment.

“Why do you look so handsome today?”

“Because I’m wearing a full face of makeup.”

    “Nah, something’s different.”

Zion trailed off, taking a step back. He scanned Jubin from head to toe, as if he were a painting in a gallery.

Jubin could usually brush off compliments from others with a calm smile, but Zion’s praise always left him flustered.

    “Nothing’s different.”

But Zion’s eyes kept searching for an answer, so Jubin laughed and changed the subject.

“Say hello. This is my new manager. Yang Joo-won. He’s a year older than you.”

Jubin smoothly introduced them. Joo-won, however, had been frozen in place the moment he spotted Zion.

    “Hello. I’m Do Zion.”

Zion smiled as usual, extending his hand for a handshake.

Joo-won quickly wiped his palm on his thigh before taking the hand and bowing deeply at a ninety-degree angle.

“It’s an honor to meet you, Actor Do Zion! The pleasure is all mine!”

“The pleasure is mine. I don’t usually let anyone stand beside Jubin-sunbae, so you’re quite lucky.”

Though his tone and demeanor were as calm as ever, there was a strange, sharp edge to his words.

Of course, Joo-won was completely oblivious to the subtle tension during their first meeting.

“I was lucky enough to beat out everyone else and be chosen by Hyung!” Joo-won boasted, his smile bright and innocent.

    “Hyung?”

Zion’s gaze fixed on Jubin, silently demanding an explanation.

    “Ah, well…”

    “Jubini-Jubini-Cha Jubin!”

Before Jubin could answer, Do-won’s booming voice cut through the air from nearby, ruining the timing.

The human golden retriever had arrived. His energy seemed higher than usual today as he bounded toward them.

As he skidded to a halt, he spotted Joo-won standing awkwardly beside Jubin. He blinked, his expression confused.

    “…Who’s this?”

His tone was cautious, as if he were wondering if this was a newly cast actor.

Jubin smiled warmly and introduced him. “This is Yang Joo-won. He’s my new manager, starting today.”

“Nice to meet you, sir,” Joo-won said. “I’m Yang Joo-won, the new manager for Mr. Cha Jubin—I mean, Actor Cha Jubin.”
