He was right. I’d known I was imprinted on him subconsciously, yet I’d tried so hard to push it away.

Jubin nodded slowly. “Yeah. I guess I thought it would be even worse to keep you by my side just because of the imprinting.”

Zion covered his mouth with his hand, his eyes wide with admiration. “To endure the imprinting… Hyung, I knew you were special, but this…”

What was so impressive about that? His praise only made me feel more awkward.

“Stop teasing me. I’m just a dishonest, cowardly fool.”

“You’re not a fool. To me, you’re the most wonderful man in the world.”

“And speaking of which… don’t call yourself a fool either. Even if it’s you, I hate it when you call the person I love a fool.”

Zion smiled softly, his fingertips brushing against Jubin’s before he gently interlaced their fingers.

“Alright,” he murmured. “I won’t call the person you love an idiot.”

The familiar warmth of Zion’s hand squeezed Jubin’s firmly, and he pressed a kiss to the back of it.

Ever since Zion had started calling him hyung, Jubin’s heart had been fluttering with a strange, ticklish sensation.

“It feels weird when you call me hyung so casually.”

    “Weird how?”

“When you called me sunbae, there was a clear line between us. But now that you’re saying hyung, it feels like you’ve suddenly crossed it.”

“Can I call you hyung on set, too?”

A slight blush crept over Jubin’s face as he awkwardly rubbed his foot against the car seat. “I mean, I guess that’s fine.”

Just then, a thought seemed to strike Zion, and his expression hardened.

“Wait, Joo-won hyung also calls you hyung, doesn’t he? I’m taking it back. I won’t call you hyung anymore.”

    Jealousy looks cute on him…

Though he was grumbling, Jubin tightened his grip on Zion’s hand, as if trying to hold him even closer.

“If you’re not going to call me hyung, what are you going to call me?”

    “Honey?”

Zion answered without a moment’s hesitation. Jubin could only blink in bewilderment. Zion’s smile remained unfazed as he tacked on a few more options.

    “Sweetheart? Baby? Mine?”

He’s determined to go public with our relationship, isn’t he?

    “Zion, you’re pushing it.”

Jubin’s voice dropped an octave without him even realizing it. Instead of backing down, Zion leaned in closer, a sly grin on his face.

    “Why? You don’t like it?”

Zion immediately dropped the formal speech, mirroring the character Segyeom from the novel. Jubin flinched involuntarily.

Is it because his tone is so low? Or because his words are so nonchalant? His formal speech always felt relaxed, but his informal speech felt… intense.

    “It’s not that I hate it…”

Jubin knew Zion was just teasing him, but he still felt like he’d completely lost the upper hand.

This wasn’t a matter of liking or disliking it.

Zion’s casual, offhand remarks brought back memories of the arrogant, rude young man he’d been in the past.

“No more speaking informally from now on. How dare you talk to your hyung like—”

    “We’re only two years apart.”

The problem was that the age gap wasn’t large enough to really lecture him on manners. Yet, hearing him speak so casually made Jubin feel a strange fondness for the very tone he should have found insolent. At the same time, it was a little terrifying.

“Two years is still two years. If you’re going to keep this up, just go back to calling me sunbae.”

“No. Why should I call my boyfriend sunbae? I’m going to call you jagi.”

At this point, Jubin couldn’t tell if he was annoyed by the informal speech or if it was making his heart flutter.

“Don’t you dare call me ‘honey’ on set. I’m serious. ‘Hyung’ is the limit.”

Did I really need to be this harsh? he wondered. Is it really that embarrassing when he speaks informally?

    Then, the realization hit him.

…It’s not like he’s calling me ‘hey.’ Is it really that bad for a boyfriend to call me ‘honey’?

The problem was that Zion was starting to overlap with the image of King Segyeom, who wore a white silk robe. Especially when he spoke informally, his commanding aura was so undeniable that Jubin felt like the fragile, enduring Hyeonseo, making him uncomfortable.

Usually, getting too immersed in a character led to confusion between reality and the story. But this time, it wasn’t Zion who was swept away by these emotions—it was Jubin.

“Hurry up and get better so we can film together. Everyone’s worried and dying to see you. Especially Director Bae…”

Just as a ship sailing smoothly needs the coordinates of a harbor to dock in at any time—rather than the power to venture into the open sea—Jubin was simply grateful to have a set to return to.

“Yeah, I want to get back to filming too.”

Even though the problematic diving lesson was still waiting for us.

The diving incident had apparently left Zion with such a heavy sense of responsibility and shock that he had insisted on teaching the class himself.

“Zion, your schedule is already packed. Can you really handle teaching my diving class too?”

“I can. I’ll just treat it as a workout. I don’t have anything else to do besides filming now.”

Is now the time? Can I finally ask? Jubin had been putting it off, but he absolutely had to ask about the plan Zion had been keeping to himself.

“Zion, you’re not even preparing for your one-person agency… How are you going to finish the project on your own?”

Zion just smiled and ruffled Jubin’s hair.

“Don’t worry about me, hyung. Just focus on recovering.”

    A tender kiss followed.

The feeling of having Do Zion all to himself brought Jubin a happiness beyond words.

With Zion’s devoted care, CEO Moon Woo-jin’s fussing, and Joo-won’s support, Jubin recovered quickly.

As soon as he felt well enough, he went straight for a blood test. After spending such an intense heat with Zion, they needed to check his hormone levels to confirm if he was pregnant.

“Are you nervous?” Zion asked, gently taking Jubin’s hand as he sat like a statue in front of the exam room, his head bowed.

    “Yeah, a little…”

Zion squeezed his hand tighter, as if to reassure him. Passing patients stole glances at the pair.

Could that really be Do Zion, the actor, here? And holding a man’s hand so tenderly outside an exam room?

Even some of the medical staff quickly averted their eyes, convinced it was impossible.

“Patient Cha Jubin, please come in.”

Jubin rose reflexively and stepped into the examination room. His heart hammered against his ribs, threatening to leap down his throat from the sheer weight of his anxiety.

The doctor glanced at Zion, who sat beside Jubin, before asking casually, “Did you spend your heat with an Alpha?”

Jubin and Zion’s eyes met. Swallowing hard, Jubin answered with grim resolve.

    “Yes, we did.”

The doctor looked back and forth between them, his gaze steady. “Alpha, did you knot?”

    Jubin hadn’t expected that question.

    Did we knot?

His memories of the heat were fragmented—a few vivid snapshots pieced together by a hazy blur.

Zion answered the doctor’s question calmly. “No, I didn’t.”

“You’re taking the Alpha oral contraceptive, and it seems to have worked perfectly. There was no knotting, and no pregnancy was detected between the two of you.”

Relief and disappointment washed over Jubin at the same time. He couldn’t tell which emotion was stronger.

I was so worried. I was so anxious. This is the result I wanted, he told himself. Yet, as the doctor’s calm words sank in, the tips of his fingers grew cold.

“Since this was the Omega’s first heat, the chance of miscarriage would have been high even if conception had occurred. Just so you know, when your partner goes into rut, the Omega will go into heat as well. In that case, the Alpha oral contraceptive won’t be effective. You’ll need to be careful in the future…”

The doctor’s voice reached his ears, but the words slipped through his mind without being processed.

Am I… a little sad? Jubin wondered. His heart sank deeper than he had expected.

It felt as if I’d lost something I’d never even held, leaving a hollow ache in my chest. My heart felt heavy, numb with a strange sense of emptiness.

“Since you’re here, would you like to go ahead with the chip implantation and the skin graft?”

Jubin didn’t even notice the silence that had fallen between us.

    “Sunbae?”

This was the first time. I’d been taught that chip implantation was standard after Manifestation, but for the first time, I found myself wanting to defy that standard.

    “…Hyung?”

When I looked up and saw the lovely Alpha resting a gentle hand on my shoulder, guilt washed over me. His eyes were filled with nothing but concern for me.

We should be relieved, I told myself. We still have the responsibility of finishing our remaining work, and we should be happy that I’m not pregnant.

So why did the sense of loss—a feeling far deeper than mere disappointment—outweigh the relief?

    “Ah, ahh… ha, ah!”

They’d just returned to Zion’s place after the doctor’s appointment. The moment they stepped through the door, Zion was on him.

As if he’d sensed Jubin’s turmoil, Zion said nothing, only pressing his lips to Jubin’s and tangling their bodies together in a desperate attempt to soothe him.

    “Hyung.”

    “Hngh… ah…”

    “Jubin hyung.”

Zion kept calling his name, his voice thick with longing. Every touch seemed to convey his love, and Jubin found a strange satisfaction in it.

No matter how deeply he breathed, his heart continued to race. The searing pleasure flooded his senses, and his entire body went taut.

    “Hah… ahh…!”

His insides were already so sensitized from the prolonged stimulation that even the slightest touch made him writhe.

When Zion struck the most sensitive spot deep inside him, Jubin’s body convulsed, and a cry tore from his throat.

A sharp cramp seized his lower abdomen, and the dull ache in his perineum, which had been throbbing for days, flared into a piercing pain.

    “Ah… just now…!”
