Chapter 3: No Exit
by GideonSweat dripped from his body onto her breasts. The moment he thrust his penis deep inside, Hyewan convulsed violently. He had struck a hidden spot near her cervix, and she writhed, unable to cope with the sensation.
“Ah, right there—hnnngh! Stop, I can’t take it!”
“So this is the spot.”
Though his head was blunt, Hyewan felt as if she were being pierced by an awl.
“Ah, ungh!”
Seeing her intense reaction, Yundo struck the same spot again. For a moment, Hyewan felt as if her heart had stopped, and her entire body seized up.
“Ah!”
She let out a sharp cry and trembled. Overwhelmed by a pleasure she had never experienced before, she shook her head wildly, tears streaming down her face. When he thrust into her again, her entire world shattered into a thousand pieces.
“Hnnngh! Ah, ahh…!”
Hyewan writhed, her moans drawn out and desperate. Tears streamed down her face, unable to contain the pleasure that had completely overwhelmed her body. Yundo pulled her into a tight embrace.
“It’s okay,” he murmured.
He shared her orgasm, licking away her tears. He stroked her hair and showered her face with kisses, waiting for her to calm down.
Only when he felt the aftershocks of her pleasure finally subside did Yundo begin to move again. When she had reached her peak, her vaginal walls had spasmed, clamping down on his cock with a crushing force. He’d been clenching his jaw so hard it ached, fighting the urge to just fuck her and come inside.
Now, with every thrust, the friction created a frothy lather at their point of connection. The wet, slapping sounds of their bodies meeting echoed in his ears.
With his head thrown back, he focused entirely on Hyewan as he thrust into her over and over. The sensation of her tight, clenching walls drove him wild. His heavy scrotum slapped against her buttocks as he drove himself deep, pulling her closer with each stroke. Finally, their bodies met flush, and he erupted inside her.
“Ko Hyewan, you’re incredible.”
The fire in his dark eyes still burned. She felt as if she were being consumed by his flames, turning to ash. She tried to clear her mind, but her eyelids kept fluttering shut. The insomnia that had tormented her seemed to have vanished without a trace.
Just a little more… just a little more sleep…
She woke up as if a light had been switched on in a dark room. It was the first time in nearly two months she’d slept so soundly, without a single dream.
Unfortunately, the memories of the previous night flashed through her mind like a panorama. Hyewan bolted upright, letting out a small gasp.
“Ah!”
Her whole body ached. A dull, indescribable soreness radiated from her thighs and more intimate areas. The spot beside her in bed was empty.
Thank goodness.
Even in this state, Hyewan breathed a sigh of relief. The thought of facing Cha Yundo the morning after a one-night stand was simply unimaginable.
The moment her feet touched the floor, the pain intensified. Biting her lip, she found her clothes and got dressed.
She paused at the door, her hand gripping the handle. She had no way of knowing if Cha Yundo was still outside. But it was already seven o’clock—she had to leave before the lobby filled with people.
Mustering her courage, she opened the door. He was nowhere to be seen.
Relief washed over her, but she still felt as if he might appear from around any corner. Hyewan practically fled the room.
In her haste, she failed to notice the note left on the sofa table with his phone number on it.
As Hyewan left the hotel, Yundo was already on his way.
He had woken up feeling her warmth beside him, her presence a tangible comfort in the early light. He’d wondered what her reaction would be when she finally opened her eyes. He’d even considered staying to have breakfast with her, to talk and linger in the moment. But the thought was quickly dismissed.
One night was enough. He couldn’t afford to cross that line.
Yundo slipped out of bed and into the bathroom.
Even after he’d finished getting ready for work and stepped out of the room, he had to force himself not to look back. A hollow ache settled in his chest, as if he were leaving something precious behind.
Get a grip, Cha Yundo.
Lee Dong-yeong, his chief secretary, was waiting for him in the lobby.
“Good morning, sir.”
“Hmm. Let’s stop by the main house first.”
“Finally going back, are we?”
Yundo didn’t answer. He simply slid into the back seat Lee had opened for him.
He’d returned to Korea, so he had to show his face at the family home. But he knew his grandmother, Chairwoman Kang Ok-seon, would surely keep him captive after work. So, he’d planned a quick hit-and-run right before heading to the office.
“The Madam was furious,” Dong-yeong, his college junior and secretary, said as he pulled the car away, his tone accusatory. “She was absolutely livid, demanding to know where you’d been stashed all this time.”
The way Dong-yeong shook his head suggested he’d been thoroughly tormented by Chairwoman Kang.
“Even your mother was on her side this time. Honestly, Yundo, you’re something else. You could’ve just shown your face for a moment.”
“That’s why I’m going now.”
Ever since his younger brother Yun-seok’s death, Yundo had found the family home suffocating. The more his grandmother tried to bind him to her, the further he withdrew. It was the very reason he’d volunteered to go to America.
Even now, his head was already throbbing. And then he thought of Hyewan—the only one who seemed to understand when he’d said his family was a bit much.
“Don’t be like that. The elders must have a good reason for saying so,” Dong-yeong continued his lecture, but Yundo’s thoughts had already drifted to Hyewan.
After his disastrously broken engagement, women had been completely off his radar. So why was Ko Hyewan the exception? He had even been the one to pursue her first. It was his first time having a one-night stand with a stranger. The real problem was that he still couldn’t stop thinking about that night.
“We’ve arrived. Please get out.”
Dong-yeong, who had already stepped out and opened the rear door, broke his reverie.
Yundo looked at the mansion where he had grown up as if seeing it for the first time. This won’t be an easy reunion. Taking a deep breath, he stepped out of the car.
The front door was already wide open, as if Dong-yeong had called ahead. As he entered the foyer, his youngest brother, Yun-woo, came running toward him.
“Big brother!”
“How have you been?”
Yundo scooped up his younger brother, who was thirteen years his junior, and lifted him off his feet. The boy was already nineteen, yet he still acted like a five-year-old child.
His grandmother, Chairwoman Kang Ok-seon, was already furious.
“Where on earth have you been? I heard you returned to the country three days ago!”
As expected, she started nagging the moment she saw him.
“Don’t you care about your mother and the rest of the family waiting for you at home?”
Even when his grandfather was alive, Chairwoman Kang Ok-seon had been the true authority in the family. No one dared to challenge her—except for one person. Yundo was different. He was even stronger and more headstrong than the Chairwoman herself.
“No news is good news, isn’t it?”
Behind the fuming Chairwoman, Yundo saw his mother, Madam Park, her expression a mix of anxiety and relief. He reached out and ruffled Yun-woo’s meticulously styled hair.
“Ah, Hyung! I told you not to do that!”
Yundo threw an arm around Yun-woo, who was clearly disgusted, and greeted Madam Park.
“Mother, we’re back.”
“Welcome home.”
“Yes. Cha Yun-woo, how are your studies going?”
At that, a shadow fell over Yun-woo’s face.
“I’m working hard.”
Though Yun-woo would be an adult next year, in Yundo’s eyes, his brother still seemed like a five-year-old child. Before Yundo could say anything to him, Chairwoman Kang Ok-seon grabbed his attention.
“Follow me. I need to see you.”
“I only stopped by on my way to work. I have to go.”
“I have a breakfast meeting too. This will be quick.”
Chairwoman Kang Ok-seon spoke firmly and led the way to the study. Yundo’s plan to hit-and-run was ruined. A deep frown etched his brow.
The moment the study door closed, Chairwoman Kang Ok-seon began to press him.
“I’ve asked you several times already. Why aren’t you answering?”
“Are you bringing that up again?”
“Of course! Yun-woo’s tutor is your aekmak-i—your spiritual shield. You just need to approach him naturally.”
That damn spiritual shield.
Yundo’s patience was wearing thin. He’d been plagued by this nonsense since before he even returned to Korea.
“Grandmother, I understand you’re under a lot of stress. I’ll contact Dr. Hwang so you can get some counseling.”
“What’s that supposed to mean? Are you saying I’m senile?” Chairwoman Kang Ok-seon roared.
Yundo didn’t deny it.
“This is all for your sake, and for the sake of this family.”
“I understand your intentions, Grandmother, but who believes in spiritual shields in this day and age? People will laugh at you.”
“I don’t care if people mock me. How can you say that after what happened to your father and Yun-seok? If there were someone who could take your misfortune upon themselves, I would bring in a hundred, a thousand of them! That’s the only way you’ll live a long life.”
So I can live while ruining other people’s lives?
Yundo shook his head and replied firmly, “Then I’d rather just die.”
“You foolish boy! How can you say such a thing? Words have power!”
“Anyway, I’ll pretend I didn’t hear any of this. I’m leaving now.”
“Cha Yundo!”
Despite Chairwoman Kang Ok-seon’s sharp call, Yundo ignored her and walked out of the study.
